Syrian refugee education in 2015 & 2016
Some Syrian refugee children have been out of school since the onset of hostilities in their country in 2011. Catching up will be hard. High percent of kids in early teens are taking up jobs or have to take care of younger siblings and work at 'home' to contribute to family survival. They need most help staying on track with math.
Qualified math teachers are scarce in the refugee camps. Our program provides carefully designed math problems and trains the adult volunteers with general education, so that they can deliver quality math even if they never taught before.
